Finding Inspiration in Nature / Drift Wood
During the COVID pandemic, I found solace in short daily walks, which allowed me to appreciate the diverse types of trees around me, focusing on their unique bark, surfaces, and textures. On a summer holiday in Devon, I discovered a beach scattered with driftwood and collected various sticks, each with its own unique appearance, some with knots, black spots, holes, or interesting splits and textures. Below are some photographs and drawings inspired by my exploration of driftwood, tree bark, and roots.

This is a large charcoal drawing of a root that came out of my garden.
